The Character Council of Western New York and Harvest Time Partners Foundation have announced a new scholarship program to reinforce the importance of character and encourage students to pursue academic goals beyond high school.
The program will award $1,000 scholarships to three college-bound Western New York high school seniors exemplifying character in his or her daily life. Seniors attending a public, private, parochial or home school who are enrolling full-time in a college or trade school for the fall of 2014 are eligible.
Students must be residents of Allegheny, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans or Wyoming counties to be considered. The scholarship will be made payable directly to the chosen post-secondary institutions.
